Passchendaele, the ultimate struggle

After four days of intensive fighting, the British army’s ultimate attack to gain total control of the zone was launched. At 6 a.m., the Canadian Corps under General Arthur Currie attacked and succeeded in taking Passchendaele and its surroundings in only two hours. 2,238 men lost their lives. When the Third Battle of Ypres ended, there were more than 15,000 victims, of all nationalities combined.
